What we do with your information.
Short version: we only take the details you send us, we use them to reply to you, and we don't track you or sell anything to anyone. The full version is below.

Who's responsible for your information
Website Worx is the trading name of [[your legal name or company name]], based in Maidenhead, United Kingdom. That's who decides how your information is handled — the "data controller", in the legal wording. If you have any question about your privacy, email [your@email.co.uk] and it comes straight to us, or write to us at [[postal address for service]].
What we collect, and why
There are only two ways we get any information from you, and neither involves tracking you around the web.
1. When you send us an enquiry
If you fill in our form or email us, we receive what you chose to send: your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number if you gave it, the type of business you run, and whatever you wrote in the message. We use this for one thing — to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to set up your website. We don't add you to any marketing list and we don't pass your details to anyone else who'd try to sell you something.
In data protection terms, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — you asked us to get in touch, so we do. If we ever wanted to use your details for anything beyond replying to you, we'd ask you first.
2. When you use the website itself
The site remembers two small things in your own browser, and neither is shared with us or anyone else:
- Whether you chose light or dark mode, so it stays how you left it next time.
- Whether you've already seen the little pricing prompt, so it doesn't keep reappearing.
That's it. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no advertising cookies and no third-party tracking of any kind. We don't build a profile of you and we couldn't identify you from anything the site stores.
Who else sees your information
Your enquiry is handled by us. Two companies help it reach us, acting on our instructions and not for their own purposes: Netlify, who host this website and receive what you type into the enquiry form, and the company that runs our email. Netlify is a US company, so your enquiry may be processed outside the UK — that transfer is covered by safeguards UK data protection law recognises, under our agreement with them. Beyond that, nobody. We don't sell, rent or trade your information, full stop.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as we're in touch about it, and then for up to 12 months in case you come back to us — after which we delete it. If you become a client, we keep what we need to run your website and meet our legal obligations for as long as you're with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards. If you'd like your details removed sooner, just ask.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can, at any time:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Ask us to stop or limit how we use it.
- Object to us using it — and if you object to marketing, we must stop, no questions asked.
- Ask us to send it to you or another provider in a portable form.
To do any of these, email [your@email.co.uk]. We'll respond within one month, and it won't cost you anything.
If you're not happy
We'd always rather you told us first so we can put it right. But you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a significant change and we're in contact with you, we'll tell you directly.
